Chris came to me asking about an apprenticeship in spring of 2008. He and I worked together on casting plugs for the anagama's side stoke holes. Chris had taken a woodfiring workshop from Mike Weber and was really excited to learn as much as he could about wood-firing and making better pottery. I liked Chris' attitude and work ethic, I also admired his drive to do the apprenticeship despite the commitments of a family and employment. Chris worked at Mill Creek till December of 2008.

This tumbler was fired for six days in an anagama kiln, it has two great sides(the glossy fire face and green matte up draft side). This tumbler was very carefully cut by a wire tool to create those thin, flat sides. This proud standing tumbler is great for everyday drinking and even desert eating occasions.
